Advisory Board

The Truman Youth Leadership Academy is sponsored by the Institute of Public Policy, a research department within the Truman School of Public Affairs. Members of the Institute have come together to form a board, responsible for overseeing the budget, infrastructure, and curriculum of the camp throughout the year.

Executive Director

This camp was founded by three Graduate students in the Truman School at the University of Missouri, in the Spring of 2013. They created, funded, and ran the camp in it’s inaugural year; but it is now annually organized by the Camp Coordinator, a Graduate Assistant in the Truman School of Public Affairs.

Camp Leaders

Finally, each year, the camp recruits several undergraduate students as volunteer staff throughout the camp. Each volunteer has an expressed interest in working with children, can produce a clear background check, and substantial references for review by TYLA staff.
