The Truman Youth Leadership Academy is a one-week summer day camp for middle-school age students that explores leadership skills, civic involvement, and community service through the University of Missouri’s four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Discovery, and Excellence. Our inaugural summer camp was hosted on MU’s campus from July 22-26, 2013.
By motivating youth to assume leadership roles in their schools, churches, and local communities today, we can inspire them to fill tomorrow’s US House of Representatives, US Senate, and hopefully, the Oval Office.
We are non-partisan, non-profit, and directed by a team of graduate students. The program is proudly facilitated by the Truman School of Public Affairs, Institute of Public Policy and MU Extension at the University of Missouri.
